It’s always been the same, this sadness it remains, inside

She was so seductive, she was 17 and she was so secure
And though she lived life for the moment
She had left her heart in the bottom drawer

And I remember how it used to be
Dark painted shadows hanging over me

Sometimes when I’m alone
I reach out for the phone to call
But there is no reply
and I break down and cry once more

She was such a sweet thing
Could have been a star, a model girl
Always she would smile
