Yourself To Blame

by Chris A.

/

about

Walking round to a mates house I heard his door slam and he stormed off the other way. The first line here came into my head at that point and the rest followed when we go to the rehearsal room. Incidentally, the chorus melody should follow precisely, my bass line, but the vocalist thought it was too hard to sing. Punks eh?

lyrics

Yourself To Blame.

Chip on your shoulder and a bag on your back
You leave town once again
You think you're a hero, but you're only a kid
Who has a hard time now and then

So sit down, sort it out
Give maturity a shout
Try and sort these things out in your mind
You're only a boy with a future in store
If you take the time I'm sure you'll find

Chorus:
Stop being a loner
Try and organise your time
And journey on another train
Walking with your head down
Leads into the darkness
And you've only got yourself to blame

Leaving home for the London lights
That's just no game to play
Living rough is no fun at all
Especially day to day

So sit down, sort it out
Give your fuckin' life a shout
Try and sort these things out in your mind
You're only a boy with a future in store
If you take the time I'm sure you'll find

[Rpt Chorus]

You're 16, and you've just left school
You think you're really great
You may stroll around being nobody's fool
But you can't fool around with fate.
